Uganda’s renowned businessman and philanthropist Dr. Hamis Kiggundu has once again demonstrated his unwavering support for Ugandan football by donating Shs20 million to the Uganda Cranes camp ahead of their opening match in the CHAN 2024 tournament against Algeria on Monday, August 4, 2025.
The generous offer was delivered through the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, who handed the funds over to the team during a motivational address.
“I met one of the friends of Uganda Cranes, Dr. Hamis Kiggundu, and he gave me a small token to give you. He gave Shs20 million to buy water and other essentials. He also said that if you win, he will give you the same amount for every win,” said the Speaker.
This gesture is part of Dr. Kiggundu’s broader commitment to uplifting Ugandan sports through personal investment and corporate support via his Hamz Group of Companies.
