Nyege Nyege Festival Back with Star-Studded Lineup
The Nyege Nyege Festival returns to Uganda’s Kalagala Falls for its 10th anniversary with a spectacular celebration of music, culture, and creativity. From November 20 to 24, festival-goers will experience 24 hours of nonstop performances from more than 300 artists drawn from Africa, the diaspora, and beyond.
This year’s edition will feature a diverse lineup of global stars and underground innovators. Among the headline acts are Kampire, DJ Travella, DJ Diaki, Arsenal Mikebe, Sisso, Maiko, and Catu Diosis. Moreover, collectives such as Group Therapy and Ile Ijo from Nigeria, Fabrika from Ethiopia, Singeli Movement from Tanzania, and Transit from Ghana will bring regional flavor to the stages. International crews, including Moonshine from Canada and Maraboutage from France, will also perform.
In addition, Skrillex and Flowdan will headline international segments, sharing the stage with traditional Ugandan artists who showcase the country’s cultural heritage through music and dance.
A Celebration of African Innovation
Nyege Nyege remains one of the most influential music festivals on the continent. This year, six stages will highlight both traditional and futuristic soundscapes. As a result, audiences can expect a fusion of ancestral rhythms and modern electronic creativity. Artists will perform genres such as mapanta, singeli, balani show, acholitronix, kadodi, afrohouse, 3step, and bacardi house.
The 2025 theme, Ekigunda Ky’Omuliro – The Gathering of the Flame, symbolizes unity and rebirth. Therefore, attendees will experience an Afrofuturistic sound journey that connects Africa’s history with its contemporary evolution. Organizers noted that each stage will be curated with intention to promote inclusion, artistry, and collective celebration.

A New Home at Kalagala Falls
For its 10th year, the festival moves to a breathtaking new home overlooking Kalagala Falls on the River Nile. Located just two hours from Kampala, the venue combines natural beauty with easy access. The African Electronic Music Conference
To commemorate its decade of cultural impact, Nyege Nyege will launch the African Electronic Music Conference (AEMC) in partnership with the French Development Agency. The conference aims to unite artists, producers, and industry leaders to discuss innovation and investment in Africa’s music ecosystem.
Additionally, a fashion pavilion known as Kwetu Kwanza will feature designers promoting sustainable African fashion. This initiative, according to organizers, reflects the growing connection between creativity, environmental consciousness, and economic empowerment.
Streaming the Spirit of Nyege Nyege
For the first time, global audiences will be able to stream the event live. Trace+, an Afro-Urban culture platform, has partnered with Nyege Nyege 2025 through a collaboration managed by African event agency Flycorp. This partnership will extend the festival’s reach far beyond Uganda’s borders.
Through Trace+, viewers will enjoy exclusive performances, behind-the-scenes access, and artist interviews. The platform’s app and website will stream content in real time, ensuring that fans across continents can share in the energy of Nyege Nyege. Consequently, this digital expansion strengthens the festival’s role as a global ambassador of African culture.
