Presidential Election Requirements for 2026

Basic Eligibility Criteria

To contest in the 2026 presidential race, one must meet the following constitutional requirements:

  • Age: Must be between 35 and 75 years at the time of nomination.
  • Citizenship: Must be a natural-born Ugandan citizen, not naturalized.
