Airtel Africa has introduced a dynamic campaign, #SmartaWithData, aimed at helping its customers make the most of their data bundles. The initiative partners with three renowned African musicians—Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, and Simi from Nigeria—to engage their vast fan base on how to enhance their digital experience through smarter data usage.

The collaboration involves the creation of a special song that provides practical advice on efficient data management. Whether it’s for browsing the internet, streaming media, or utilizing essential applications, this song serves as an educational resource to guide users in optimizing their daily data consumption. The #SmartaWithData campaign is specifically targeting young adults, aged 18-35, in seven African countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, and Malawi. This effort is part of Airtel’s broader commitment to educating its customers about data usage through engaging and accessible means.

Rohit Marwha, Airtel Africa’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, emphasized the goal of the campaign, which is to ensure customers receive the most value from their data bundles. “By partnering with artists who resonate with our customers, we can deliver vital information about managing their data through clear, relatable messages. This collaboration helps our users enhance their digital experience by adopting smarter data habits,” said Marwha. The campaign encourages Airtel users to share their own data-saving tips, creating a community of savvy data consumers.

Airtel Africa is dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for its customers, and by leveraging the popularity of these artists, the campaign ensures its educational message is delivered authentically and effectively. “Our goal is to empower our customers with knowledge that enriches their online experiences, whether for work or leisure,” Marwha added.

The #SmartaWithData campaign reflects a blend of entertainment and education, making data management both enjoyable and informative for Airtel’s customers. This innovative partnership is a step toward not only optimizing data use but also promoting greater digital literacy across the continent.
